Theater of Innocence
is
the alternative-pop brainchild of Fred Israel, songwriter-producer-vocalist
and multi-instrumentalist-composer. EMI refers to the songs
on "Now
Showing" as a product of "smart and ambitious writing".
The arrangements are dressed up in a mix of acoustic and electronic
r&b/rock/jazz influenced hooks floating over contemporary
urban grooves. |

Fred Israel has composed,
recorded, and performed numerous original pieces for
choreographers,
educational
CD-ROMS,
and promotional short films, including an American Lung
Association
film which won a CINE Golden Eagle Award. He has worked on
synthesizer
arrangements for Yamaha Corporation and has performed as
a keyboard
and saxophone player in many jazz and r&b bands in
New York,
Los Angeles, and Northern Europe. His jazz record,
"Fashions
of Moon" released some years back in Scandinavia,
received
very favorable reviews, and was described as "Weather
Report
meets Pink Floyd".
"
Now Showing" is the debut album of "Theater of Innocence" (AKA
Fred Israel) on which he plays all instruments save some blues
harp and gospel-like background vocals on a few tracks.

twenty years, was produced, orchestrated and sung by the composer.
Taken from both his work in the theater and from his own personal
experience, the styles range from theatrical to pop.

PETER LINK is probably best known for his work as
a composer/lyricist. He has won the NY Drama Desk Award for his
work in SALVATION, out of which came his first Gold Record, IF
YOU LET ME MAKE LOVE TO YOU, THEN WHY CAN'T
I TOUCH YOU?, which sold over two million records. Peter is a
two-time Tony Award nominee
on Broadway both for his musical score of Joseph Papp's MUCH
ADO ABOUT NOTHING, and for his score for Neil Simon's THE GOOD
DOCTOR.
He is the creator, composer, director and arranger of THE JENNY
BURTON EXPERIENCE – a nationally known inspirational music
group. Recently he completed his first double CD entitled THRU
me: The Songs Of Peter Link. He's written for films, television,
ballet, the pop world and Broadway.
Peter Link has also recently written, produced and orchestrated
an inspirational CD, UPON THE MOUNTAIN for vocalist, Julia Wade.
He wrote the music for SUNDOWN, a musicalization of the gunfight
at the OK Corral, which had its very successful world premier
in the spring of 2002 at the Lyric Theater in Dallas and opened
at
The Barter Theater in Virginia in the spring of 2003. SUNDOWN’S
cast album has just been released. In the fall of 2002, he and
Jacob Brackman, lyricist, presented a very successful revival
of KING OF HEARTS at the Goodspeed
Opera. His other sacred CD, MIND FIRE, is now topping the inspirational
charts. He
